MASTERING THE WHEEL: TECHNIQUE & FORM DEVELOPMENT (3 days: 10.00 - 16.00)

Omschrijving

Rudie is an accomplished potter with an impressive track record. He teaches workshops all over the world, and we are proud to welcome him to the Netherlands for the first time. During these three days, Rudie will guide you through the art of large-scale throwing. He will explain in detail how to wedge, centre, throw and assemble your pieces. How do you maintain the right formal tension? Which steps should you never skip? That's what we'll be focusing on. This workshop is designed for experienced potters who are ready to take their skills to the next level. You should be comfortable centring 2–2.5 kg of clay and pulling it up into a well-formed cylinder. If that sounds like you, this is the workshop for you! What's included: - the use of clay & tools, - coffee/tea, - a vegetarian lunch each day. And to make sure everyone can enjoy their lunch, please let us know if you have any allergies or dietary requirements we should be aware of. If we don't hear from you, we'll assume that a vegetarian lunch works for you. What to bring: - An apron and a towel (s) - Your own bats and packing materials (if needed) Firing is not included in the workshop fee. If you wish, you can have your creations fired and glazed during the open studio days. If you have a studio pass (strippenkaart), the regular firing fee of €1.80 per 100 grams of clay applies. Prefer to visit the studio just once to finish your piece? You can do so at a rate of €15.00 per hour, plus the regular firing fee of €1.80 per 100 grams of clay. If you prefer to have your pieces fired elsewhere, please bring your own bats and packing materials. The workshop will be conducted in English and requires a minimum of 10 participants. Duration: 3 days, from 10:00 to 16:00 each day.
